Has Nulife Glass been audited?
Nulife Glass has available an independent audit performed by Greeneye Partners. Please contact Greeneye Partners directly.
What type of CRT glass can be accepted at the USA facility?
We are permitted by DEC to receive and process whole and broken CRT Tubes, Mixed CRT glass and leaded CRT funnel glass.
Does Nulife Glass process whole TVs and monitors or other types of electronic waste?
No, Nulife Glass provides a legally compliant downstream processing route for companies already providing TV dismantling services. We do not handle whole units and we are not in competition with our customers.
Is any material exported?
No, 100% of the CRT glass we receive is fully recycled in the USA and is converted into final products with no need to export glass or lead.
How is the CRT glass processed?
At our facility the CRT glass is prepared for our lead recovery technology through various crushing and cleaning processes, and then fed into the unique furnace where the lead separates from the glass leaving the lead free glass to be prepared for various uses including construction products and the lead is packed ready to feed into battery manufacturing. There is no waste.

How do we receive CRT glass at our facility?
All glass consignments must be pre-booked and paid for in advance of receipt of consignment.
- The customer will have identified and complied with any local, State and Federal Law pertaining to the packaging, labelling and transportation of CRT glass prior to delivery to our Facility.

Technology and Environmental
How much glass can the lead recovery technology process?
Our CRT recycling furnace is capable of processing up to 10 tonnes of leaded glass per day. However, if we are receiving more glass than the furnace is designed to melt we have spare space and power capacity to build two more at the existing site and we are currently looking to new areas where we can build more furnaces.
Are there any emissions, discharges or waste?
Our process produces no solid or liquid waste. Emission tests conducted on our commercial scale unit confirmed emissions of lead and other heavy metals are 6 times less than what is seen as best practice in the EU. Water used for cooling is re-circulated and there is no discharge. There is no waste from the process; the only outputs from the plant are saleable glass and lead products.
How pure is the recovered lead?
Typically better than 97% pure.
What products are made from the treated glass?
The glass has been successfully used as an aggregates replacement in construction products such as floor screeds and worktops. We are also developing some new construction products as well as decorative glass for use in the home and garden as well as some commercial applications where we may see higher environmental value in the glass.
Does the Nulife Glass system only work on CRT glass?
Our system will remove lead and other heavy metals from a range of glass materials such as lead crystal waste, x-ray shielding and crystal cutting waste but the single biggest waste stream it addresses is the domestic TV.
Can the treated glass go back to make new CRTs?
No, this process is unique because it does not rely on the declining market for "glass to glass" recycling. Once treated there are many applications for the glass in large and sustainable markets.
